Sabato Sisillo, was born in Pannarano , Italy.
A small town of 2,000 people outside of Naples. Following in his grandparents footsteps his father and mother immigrated to the US for a better opportunity, concentrating on the opportunity of a higher level education.
Dr. Sisillo grew up in New York City Manhattan a population of 7.8 million the year he immigrated in 1968. He, attended a small all boys Catholic high school LaSalle Academy in lower Manhattan. He then completed a Bachelor of Science in toxicology at St. John's University in Queens New York.
For his medical education he attended Universidad Del Noreste, Tampico Mexico. He completed a Fifth pathway program sponsored by New York medical College in Valhalla New York. Spending a year at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport Connecticut.
Dr. Sisillo, was introduced to Kansas City Missouri in September 1988. He attended and worked as an instructor at the University of Missouri Kansas City National Board the prep program teaching human anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology.
Dr. Sisillo, completed an internship in Family Practice, at University of Missouri Kansas City, Truman East in Lee Summit Missouri. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Missouri Kansas City, Truman Medical Center West/St. Luke's Hospital.
He then went on to complete a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care Medicine in 1998 at the University of Missouri Kansas City Truman West/St. Luke's Hospital Kansas City Missouri. He is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine.
Initial private practice consisted of being part of Midwest Pulmonary Consultants in Kansas City Missouri. In 2003 Dr. Sisillo and Dr. Khan founded KC pulmonary Associates in Kansas City Kansas.
Initial practice in Wyandotte County included providing services at Bethany Hospital Kansas City Kansas. Now his main focus is Providence Medical Center, Kansas City Kansas.
Dr. Sisillo is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Providence Medical Center. He has held numerous positions throughout the years, including Medical Director for Select Specialty Hospital, Associate Professor KU Medical Center, President of medical staff at Providence Medical Center. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors at Providence Medical Center.
Dr.Sisillo has trained numerous medical students, residents, from KU Medical Center. He is currently the program director for KC K community College Respiratory Therapy School.
On days when he is away from the office or the hospital. He enjoys the outdoors. His passion includes exercising, cycling, skiing, most of all he enjoys the simple task of walking in the mountains of Pannarano Italy, and hunting for mushrooms.
